6:5-6
וַיַּ֣רְא יְהוָ֔ה כִּ֥י רַבָּ֛ה
רָעַ֥ת הָאָדָ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ
And the LORD saw that the wickedness
of mankind on the earth was great;
וְכָל־יֵ֙צֶר֙ מַחְשְׁבֹ֣ת לִבֹּ֔ו
רַ֥ק רַ֖ע כָּל־הַיֹּֽום׃
and every purpose of the intent of his heart,
was only evil all the time;
וַיִּנָּ֣חֶם יְהוָ֔ה
כִּֽי־עָשָׂ֥ה אֶת־הָֽאָדָ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ
And the LORD regretted
that He had made mankind on the earth;
וַיִּתְעַצֵּ֖ב אֶל־לִבֹּֽו׃
and He was grieved to His heart;
6:7-8
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָ֗ה
Then the LORD said:
אֶמְחֶ֨ה אֶת־הָאָדָ֤ם אֲשֶׁר־בָּרָ֙אתִי֙
מֵעַל֙ פְּנֵ֣י הָֽאֲדָמָ֔ה
“I shall wipe out mankind whom I have created,
from upon the face of the ground;
מֵֽאָדָם֙ עַד־בְּהֵמָ֔ה
עַד־רֶ֖מֶשׂ וְעַד־עֹ֣וף הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם
From man to beast,
even to the creeping thing,
and including the flying creature of the heavens;
כִּ֥י נִחַ֖מְתִּי כִּ֥י עֲשִׂיתִֽם׃
Because I am sorry that I made them”;
וְנֹ֕חַ מָ֥צָא חֵ֖ן בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ פ
But Noah, he had found grace
in the eyes of the LORD.
